How can AEC firms train their leaders in business development and how can these practitioners meet the increasing demands of becoming avid Seller-Doers in a highly competitive market?

Research published by the SMPS Foundation confirms that AEC firms are investing more in business development and expanding the ranks of people involved with sales. The traditional path to leadership in AEC firms often comes from excellence in practice. Firms, however, are finding that emerging leaders do not have sufficient exposure to marketing or business development when being considered to become firm leaders. 

DIALOG, based on successful prior experience, is developing a leadership program to educate and advance the necessary business development skills among their emerging leaders. This case study on their past experience answers the WHY and HOW associated with this concept and inspires best practice for all firms looking to transform their businesses through marketing leadership.

Robert Fiorino brings a passion for people, business and the science of relationships, to his work. Robert is a licensed architect and currently DIALOG’s go-to for business development strategy. He collaborates with senior practice leaders to steer the future growth and direction of the firm. His focus is on fostering relationships with clients, business planning, expanding and entering new markets, advancing internal business development structure and processes, analytics and metrics, leading large pursuits, brand stewardship, marketing tactics and building creative partnerships.
